There was nothing cooking up in my mind like the
topic for this week’s article. You can say I
wanted to go slowly about it. I could not make
up my mind though I kept thinking. Something
happened suddenly which you can call as writer’s
impulse or you can say lady luck must have been
please with me. A credit card member bank called
me up.
On the other side of the phone there was a lady.
She called me up to inform that my request for a
credit card has been confirmed and they are
going to process it and before doing so they
wanted some queries to be cleared from me.
When somebody calls for credit card it is always
expected that they are going to ask certain
questions. But in my case it was not necessary.
In recent years I have not applied for a credit
card, not even to bye a basketball free with my
favorite team baseball relief on top or a cup.
Certainly I told that lady that I don’t need any
credit card.
Ant it was a truth. Anyways I am not going lie
to somebody on the other side of the phone, as I
am not a politician.
I got an awesome response from that lady. When
people recommend me for something, even when I
recommend offer to give my seat on a bus or
somebody to drop me a line, I am more often than
not flattered. But this time I was very sure
that more data has got.
I asked the lady who recommended me.
It was a matter for a moment expressed so that
it could only produce an answer, which is very
small and specific.
She said that they thought that I am a good
pick.
To be considered as a good pick for a university
or even a striped sweater can be understood.
Does it mean to be a good pick for a credit
card? This surely means that I wish to have
certain goals but it is not necessary that I
should go about ruthless to accomplish these
goals in order to be alive. I have preferred
this article to alert credit card companies to
such calls and their subject and not just
because of being deficient in other issues.
Following ways should be tried:
a.
I suggest that the executive should not tell the
person that the credit card is being processed
because he is a good pick unless he has already
tried using it. If the person has not used it
already up to a point when the credit card is
probably outside stretched and it no longer give
facilities to any transaction. Though none of
these is a verse to the telemarketing logic.
b.
To convince the person you can go for new
methods such as using a name which is known and
that has already recommended other person. Just
try using the name “Jason A. Credit Card” if
your creativity is not working anymore. This
might appear absolutely wrong, but the level of
fake genuineness implied in this call will never
beat the level of fakeness.
c.
You should try to be a little tricky by saying
that your company has decided to sanction the
credit card instead of saying that he or she
requested a credit card but actually realize
that it has not been able to surpass. It will
not only defer the professionalism of the phone
call but also is to be the liking of everybody.
And some of us even are in fondness of the
credit.
Above situations will cause decrease in sales
techniques and that is why I guess they do not
do it this way.
