New Advancement In Credit Card Facility

A very important announcement was made by the APACS (UK’s payment association), to introduce new development in data processing for better services in the press conference. APACS is the nodal agency for the credit card industry and this announcement was made in behalf of United Kingdom credit card industry. This announcement made it possible for all the APACS members to share behavioral data with its customers. All the APACS members have agreed to this announcement. This service will start initially with the five major credit card issuers like the HBOS, GE Money, and Capital One, MBNA & BARCLAY card then after it will be provided to the other credit card providers. From this month only these five biggest credit card issuers will be able to share data with its customers.

Other credit card issuers will also start this service very soon after discussing with their IT experts. This data sharing ability will help the credit card providers to identify the cardholders who are going through a financial crisis. This scheme will form a ground for future betterment of the policies in the credit card industry. This new scheme will be in system by March this year. The general procedure followed before lending, that is the previous history of the customer is checked and also their balance sheet and credit card limits.

This new initiative will help to understand better the customer with the related data of their payment history and what the customer pays is the minimum payment which is unpaid by him, the changes in credit limit and their occurrences, the extent to which the cash can be removed to the savings account, and whether the customer is registered to any kind of promotional deal or not. This innovative idea of data sharing will provide the service providers the clear picture of the customer’s credit and debit history.

This will definitely make a good and positive impact on the long-term commitment.  This new data-sharing scheme will also help the lenders to have a look at the customer’s account and take the crucial decision to help those customers who are trying to clear out their existing bad loan. The lenders can also guide the customer before he is in debts. This data sharing will also help to create a good relation between the lenders and the customers who can be sometimes very helpful for both the lender and the customer.

The official head of the APACS who deals with card payment is Paul Rod ford commented that in near future the Holy Grail for lenders is to have an instant access to their customer’s data to see if he will be able to pay back the debts. That means the lender can identify the individuals who are always in a financial stress and are not given any further credit so that they don’t get into more trouble. So this is a remarkable step in the history of credit card and will benefit the service providers in a long run. It is such a task not so easy to have a scoop of ice cream as in the case of investment.
