Free Credit Card Machine

For most new merchants, the only upfront fee will be the purchase of a credit card machine. Depending on the type of business and how transactions are performed can make the decision of which machine to purchase and use. Some of the most popular machines would include Hypercom, Nurit and VeriFone. These terminals are so popular because they are easy to use, inexpensive to purchase and most merchant account providers can program them. The newer credit card machines feature a built in printer and also a small size that eliminates extra counter space that might have been wasted.

The merchant accepts credit cards by swiping the credit card or debit card through the machine and then entering the amount to be charged. The information is then sent to the processing company by having the machine call a toll free 800 number. After the processing company receives the information it is then sent to the cardholder’s bank for funds or credit to be verified. After this is done, the answer of approval or declined is sent back to the merchant’s credit card terminal all within seconds.

Certain machines have different features but the majority has the same features. Differences would include having a Pin Pad or having a check reader that will allow for funds from a check to be verified before the customer leaves the counter. These separate features can usually be attached to any machines made within the last couple of years. The attachments depend on the merchant and what type of business they are running.

Some companies will charge for a credit card terminal but Power Pay Services has a free terminal placement program. This program will allow merchants to take control of a brand new terminal with little money out of their pocket. The deposit which is placed on the terminal is later on refunded to the merchant. If the merchant decides to cancel the service or return the machine, their deposit is refunded, minus shipping. If the merchant keeps the machine with the service for three years, the deposit is fully returned to the merchant and they are able to keep the machine. No other company offers merchants a plan or incentive that can rival this. PPS is a leader in the credit card processing industry. Merchants are able to have all of their transactions approved at the lowest possible price without having to chance bad service or support.
